Introduction To The Ayurveda Village Gardens

Ayurveda Village is a nurturing and healing space devoted to raising the human Spirit through healing and self-realisation, and nature plays a significant role in supporting the healing of the mind, body and soul.

Our new spiritual gardens will be opening soon, complete with a heart-shaped labyrinth and healing spaces to soothe the mind, body and soul.

The Chakras

Our beautiful expansive gardens have been built to reflect the human body and its chakras. We’ve carefully selected the colours of trees and vegetation to follow the colours of the chakras with red at the entrance flowing through orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet at the top of the property where the seat of our administration resides and where the vision of a place of love, healing, and nurturing is transformed into reality.

Spiritual Gardens For Healing And Contemplation

Everything we are creating has a spiritual dimension and we are in the process of choosing quotations from the nine major religions about self-realisation to embed on the paths of the Labyrinth so people can contemplate these as they walk.

Heart shapes will feature across the landscape in the Labyrinth and around our new accommodation pods. There will be Healing paths that lead to beautiful spaces designed for contemplation, relaxation and healing, and a reflection pond in front of the new accommodation pods to foster a sense of calm and tranquillity.

The native vegetation area on the property remains as it was when the Peramangk People lived in that space – natural. The new spiritual gardens will have a mix of vegetation reflecting all the peoples of the world, living together in peace and unity. E.g. native trees, shrubs etc. European trees and vegetation. East and west. Oneness will be a key topic. Oneness with the environment and people.

The Heart Labyrinth

A Spiritual Labyrinth: Walking the Path of the Heart, where Mind meets Spirit.

Among the healing walks we have created at Ayurveda Village, a special highlight is the heart shaped, Spiritual Labyrinth, a healing, contemplative journey to the centre of the heart – the central wisdom of feeling, the seat of life and truth, human unity and integration.

The word Hridaya (heart) used in Ayurveda has several meanings. It relates to the heart, the brain and particularly to the Spiritual heart, the source of our existence, the seat of our consciousness and the abode of our soul.

The word Hridaya is made up of 3 root words Hri means to take, da means to give and ya means in balance. Hridaya is that which gives and receives in perfect balance. Just like our physical heart gives and receives the blood in a perfect balance our Spiritual heart is the centre of giving and receiving at the spiritual level.

Although the Spiritual heart has no dimensions, it is said that focussing our mind in the centre of the chest and slightly towards the right helps us get connected to our spiritual heart.

Ojus which is the essence of all the tissues, sustains and nourishes our life, is located in this part of the physical heart. Ayurveda recommends having a sattvic diet, lifestyle and spiritual practices to support and nourish this Ojus which in turn supports our health and wellbeing.

Health is the tool which can help us achieve whatever we desire in life and no matter what we desire for or achieve in our life, our seeking will end only when we understand the nature of our existence. That is self-realisation, the ultimate aim of life!

Practices like Yoga, meditation and mantra chanting have been recommended in different cultures to connect with our spiritual heart, our true self. One such tool is Walking the Spiritual labyrinth.

What is a Spiritual Labyrinth?

A spiritual labyrinth is an ancient tool used to foster contemplation, facilitate prayer, meditation, spiritual transformation, and global unity.

This ancient design has been found as far back as 3000 years in a variety of forms and cultures.

A labyrinth symbolizes a journey to a predetermined destination or the journey through life from birth to spiritual awakening and is used for walking meditation.  It is a single winding path from the outer edge in a circuitous way to the centre.

When we walk a labyrinth, it serves as a metaphor for life’s journey.

Our life path can be viewed as a labyrinth guiding us to deeper meaning and fulfillment.  Walking a labyrinth takes us through numerous twists and turns that symbolize the ebb and flow of life.  Like the design of a labyrinth, what looks like an end point in life can also be a beginning point.

Today, we find that walking a labyrinth addresses many psycho-spiritual areas of the human condition.  The path is helpful in awakening our spirituality, simplicity in our hectic lives, integration of mind, body, spirit and promotes self-reflection and problem solving.

This concept has created an awakening and a tremendous resurgence of people utilising the labyrinth as a spiritual tool to connect the mind-body-spirit and promote health and wellness.
